In the beginning of this year a considerable number of Junior Scientific Officers joined the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA). Most of these do not have a background in toxicology and ecotoxicology or experience in evaluation of chemicals. In view of this, an effective and efficient training program for the newcomers is needed.
DHI and its consortium partners have been contracted to provide the consecutive training modules. The first module aims at general concepts of risk assessment in the REACH framework with specific focus on hazard identification and related testing methods. The second module aims at classification and labelling according to both 67/548/EEC and Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.
