DHI bathing water forecast secures safe bathing in Copenhagen’s harbor areas
DHI bathing water forecast secures safe bathing in Copenhagen’s harbor areas
06 Aug 2010
According to the Harbor Master of Copenhagen the 2010 bathing season has so far been one of the best ever. Copenhagen harbor runs 3 bathing facilities – 2 in the central areas and a new artificial beach in the north part. The facilities are extremely popular among the Copenhageners and tourists are amazed that harbor water can hold a quality which is safe for bathing. One of the cornerstones is the DHI bathing water quality forecast. This service is able to forecast the timing and duration of E.coli and Enterococci pollution events caused by sewage overflow in connection with heavy rain falls. The forecast is accessible online at
http://oresund.badevand.dk
and this year also a Danish version on Facebook and applications for iPhone and Android phones can be found (search for "Badevand" in App. Store and Android Market).
